I've got a few custom gloves (two infield, one outfield) made via the link that Rudy provided. I used them at the Vero Beach Dodger fantasy camp I went to in January and also in the league I play in. Since I was going to live out my baseball fantasy, why not take the field with my own custom gloves? I wasn't questioned about the name I wanted on the gloves when I ordered them. Apparently, there are no Major Leaguers with my name!

Try to contact Bob Clevenhagen at Rawlings. He might be able to help you with any differences between a game model vs. game issued Ryan Howard glove.

that place doesn't seem to have any disclaimers against player names and they carry the pujols model as well as a ton of other rawlings player models and gloves from other manufacturers like SSK.

anyway, there are a myriad of shops and services out there that'll happily embroider any name you want. that model is readily available everywhere, including ebay. snag one up and then find a local place to stitch in "ryan howard". here's one place: http://www.thesportsdoctor.com/embro.html

now, all of that said, i'm sure there must be some subtle differences between a genuine ryan howard game-issued glove (one that rawlings made for him, per his specs, and sent to him for MLB use) and simply one of his stock models available via retail channels. i'm not a glove expert so i don't know what those subtle clues are. i know rawlings implements little things to differentiate genuine player-issued gloves from retail models.

That is absolutely sick; I'd love to have one of those, but with "Frik" written in. However, if I were to go with the MLB player route, I would get the following notice:

*** Rawlings reserves the right to refuse terms that are derogatory or inappropriate in nature. MLB team and player names are prohibited.

So am I not allowed to customize a glove with, say, Ryan Howard's name? Can I buy one at the local sporting goods store for kicks? Or are they not available to me at all with Howard's name written in?

Still confused...

game issued means it was actually made for and sent to the player. game model is just the same model that they use.

yes, that ryan howard glove would be considered a retail glove.

Since I like looking at fielder's gloves, I have the habit of typing "game glove" into the eBay search bar. The results often mention game-model gloves, such as the following:

In response to a question I asked the other day, someone told me that "Game Model" is just a fancy word for store bought. However, in the following auction for a "Game Model" Ryan Howard glove, it says that only his agent can order them. Would this be considered a "store bought" glove?
