Re: Game Model vs. Game Issued Fielder's Gloves
I talked with Denny Esken, and he was very helpful in answering my questions. Here is what he said:
Game model = The glove that is the same as the players use but is never given to them for use. Such a glove is ordered often by agents or Steiner for signings.
Game issued = A glove that is made to the player's specifications and given to him for use. However, it was never used in a game.
Game model gloves are not simply retail gloves. You cannot just walk into a sporting goods store and pick out or order a glove with a player's name on it; it has to be special ordered from a player's agent.
I hope this explanation clarifies things.

I am sorry if I created a stir by sharing the number I did not realize it was his personal number.. I apologize Denny for sharing the number if in fact it was a personal number rather than a business number...Leave a comment:

Re: Game Model vs. Game Issued Fielder's Gloves
I apologize if my posting led another member to post unauthorized contact information for Denny Esken; I'm not in a place where I can make a prolonged phone call, so I didn't get the number off the GUU site anyway. Denny, since apparently you do read this board, can you contact me at lazukor@gmail.com? I would love to set up a time to chat about game used vs. game issued vs. game model. Thanks for your help, and I am sorry if I have caused anyone to unethically post private information.

I received a call tonight from an individual whose phone number was posted on this site without permission. When posting an individual's phone number on a public forum, please get their permission prior to doing so.
Thanks in advance.

I know that ebay seller bought that glove from Clevenhagen. Whether Lofton ever had the glove in his possesion I don't know.Leave a comment:

Okay, so I find the following on eBay, which I really like: http://cgi.ebay.com/KENNY-LOFTON-GAM...1%7C240%3A1318. How do I know that this glove is legitimately game issued, and is not a game model glove?Leave a comment:

That picture was actually from a while ago; I am almost 24 now. Below it, I indicate that it was taken when I was thirteen. I should probably make things a bit more clear. Who's the forum's other woman?Leave a comment:

Re: Game Model vs. Game Issued Fielder's Gloves
Any glove experts out there? Because mannyramirezauthentic claims the following about his A-Rod glove:
"This glove is an exact model of the Glove AROD uses in the field while playing for the NY Yankees".

Re: Game Model vs. Game Issued Fielder's Gloves
Since I like looking at fielder's gloves, I have the habit of typing "game glove" into the eBay search bar. The results often mention game-model gloves, such as the following:
In response to a question I asked the other day, someone told me that "Game Model" is just a fancy word for store bought. However, in the following auction for a "Game Model" Ryan Howard glove, it says that only his agent can order them. Would this be considered a "store bought" glove?
Can someone please distinguish what makes these "game model" and not "game issued" gloves?
Thanks for your help!

i need clarification. is the game model glove the exact model that arod uses? i know he uses a black glove now as a yankee. i am not a glove expert but i know i cannot afford a game used yankee glove so this may be an alternative down the line.Leave a comment:
