As soon as he finished that round, I called over to him. I asked if my son could have his bat and he shook his head "yes". After the Brewers were done, the ushers were trying to get us off the field. I said, "no" that Mat was going to give my son his bat and they said I could wait a minute. Sure enough, Gamel comes over and gives my son the bat I told him that my son and he sare the same name. So, he signed the bat and exchanged well-wishes. I know there are some Brewers fans on here. This kid has a great personality. If his talent measures up to how nice he was to my son (and it seems that it does), then he's going to be a great one.

So, as if my weekend wasn't already great enough, I went over to the Twins Pro Shop. I was told by multiple people that they had a pounded Morneau bat there. Sure enough, I got there and couldn't put it down. My wife was kind enough to give me her approval and I bought it. I have been able to trace it back using my own photos and ones from Getty and others. Morneau started using this bat on 4/28/09 and cracked it hitting a double on 5/3/09. This bat has 2 HR's in it and is the most pounded Morneau I have ever seen. Here are some pics. Thanks for reading.

So, on Sunday, my son and I waited pre-game for the Twins for autos. I brought along my 2008 Morneau GU bat hoping he would see us and stop. For you that remember my other post, my 2008 is my "packing-peanut bat". Sure enough, Justin stopped and we talked about the bat and how I spent a long time picking off the pacing peanuts with tweezers. He and his wife had a good laugh about it. Anyway, he was nice enough to inscribe it for me, so here it is...

Carlos Delgado - Game Used Jersey - 37th Home Run Jersey - 2008 just picked up from MLB auction. The real beauty of this jersey is also on this day of Sept 21 2008 Carlos also collected his 2000th career hit. Everyone missed this one. I thought someone would have put 2+2 together, but i won it with the opening bid.

Finally got, in my opinion, a great bat of my favorite player growing up. I was very happy to find this unique bat and have to thank Dave for pointing me in the right direction. It shipped on Saturday and I'm eager to receive it.

Martin Prado game used 2008 bat. Prado cracked this bat on July 13th by slamming it on home plate after striking out. You can hear the bat crack while watching video of the strikeout.

Here's the video of Prado cracking this bat on home plate:
