I hear what you're saying about all those factors and you're correct. But you also have to justify the money we all spend on this stuff to ourselves, and ultimately, our families. While I love Giambi as much as you love Straw,I just can't justify paying more for one of his bats than I did for my Mattingly or Thome bats-lets not forget, even if he never touched the juice,he's not a HOF'er...just one of the better power hitters of his day.Actually,I was prepared to spend $400,but,oh well..
At least they weren't as bad as one of his NYY Mother's Day bats from a couple years ago that went for-get this-$2200!!

    Joe,

Can you PM me or email me at c_u_l_1@yahoo.com? It's unrelated; I just don't have your email and your PMs are turned off.

All i can say is WOW!!!!
I was watching The Kazuo "KAZ" Matsui (Houston Astros-2B) Pink Nike Bat, The WINNER (JACK "AZZ" 152) 4 Bid the Bat 15 Hours before the Close, and He should have won it for $540, Instead another Bidder kept submitting Bids in the Closing Minutes and Kept Extending the Auction-JACK152 eventually Won it for $1210 (Including Shipping), So the Moral to this Story (and Listen Carefully JACK AZZ 152) Is don't 4 Bid ANY Auction Item, Because you will get bid up, and end up Paying more for the Item then if you had just Submitted 1 CEILING/MAX BID!!!!

Thats true everywhere. Thats why I dont understand why people bid on items with 6 days left. Makes no sense.

            Re: MLB Pink Bats

I won the Vernon Wells "Game Used" one just now. Funny thing is , in the beginning they had 2 of Vernon's bats listed. They had Both "Close Up" picture on 1 and the full length pictures on the other. I told them that the 2nd bat ( No pine tar and no ball Marks ) was NOT game used. I taped this game. They ended up cancelling both auctions, then relisted them. This time 1 Game Used which I won for $300 and the Other Game Ready or team issued which started at $200.
Last year I won the Lyle Overbay Game Used and paid $360 for it. So I agree the "Hype" has worn off a bit. I did notice as well this year that the Overbay one has no markings, no tape , no pine tar and they still listed it as Game Used... it got no bids. So I think MLB doesnt do there homework 100% of the time.

What did the Bruce bat go for, was watching it, but went too high for my taste.

                    chakes89,

I assume you're brucefan32, haha? Sorry about that man, but I wasn't about to let that go. I'm still mad at myself for not going harder after the Hamilton last year.

Oh, and p.s., if you didn't see, the Votto bat (that he didn't use) went for $510. At least Jay used this one for 1 at-bat, lol.

Thanks man. You didn't make it easy, haha. As usual, if I ever decide to move it, you'll be the first to know. Jay is going to freak out when I show it to him...hopefully his wrist isn't too serious (surgery).

                                Re: MLB Pink Bats

I picked up the Rod Barajas for $135 after it had been reduced twice. I've tried to photo match and while there are a few fielding pics of Rod from the mother's day game vs the A's....there don't appear to be any of him batting.

If anyone has access to the game via the MLB pkg and can post some screen shots of Rod at the plate with the bat, that would be great.

                                Thanks,

                                Bill
