It's been a while since I have posted some pick ups, here are a few pickups from this year:

George Brett game used 1977-79 bat cracked handle, purchased from Bert (shoremen44) from Tim at HOF bats. Thanks again for the smooth transaction Bert

Zack Greinke 2008 game used stars and stripes cap, mlb hologram stylematched (MLB auctions):

Greinke game used Wichita Wranglers jersey (also used by Mike Aviles) that he wore during 2006. Greinke spent the season in Wichita after he decided to return to baseball. It was a good season with Gordon, Butler and Greinke in AA ball

Picked up this Ron Gardenhire 2006 Game Worn Jersey - MLB Authenticated from Tay. It is photomatched to the 2006 ALDS between the Twins and Athletics. I also have the 2006 Ron Gardenhire Locker Room Nameplate - MLB Authenticated.

    This is true Bert.

If you have other proof that an item was used during a certain game...and you are planning on keeping it for yourself - photo matching is really only a necessity if you are trying to sell the item - or plan on displaying the item with a photo. So really, who cares?

To my eyes, it looks like you have a start with a few bats with the limited images available. Maybe something will be clearer down the line.

BTW, with the kind of collecton you have, this (or the Markakis bat) being matched are probably not major priorities.

I won this the other night on MLB Auctions. Team USA jersey worn by Gator baseball player Matt Den Dekker. He was drafted by the Pirates but hopefully will come back to the Gators next year. I was going to wait until I received it to post it, but the fine print says it can up to 4 weeks for them to ship a jersey! The auction pics aren't that good, but the front seems to show some good use.

FOJ--may I ask where you got those? I'm a fan of Brandon Allen, who just got called up from Birmhingham, and I'm looking for any of his GU stuff...

No need to be sorry. I would have made the same assumption if the item is authenticated as the only one worn on a particular day and I found a photo of the player wearing it on that day.

In any event looks like you got yourself a really nice Milledge cap and as long you are happy with it is all that counts irregardless of it being photomatched or style matched.

    Enjoy!

with that said I know it is the bat as I got it from an impecable source who got it from the O's... as well... I am not randomly circling areas... I was trying to circle where the tar stopped and started on the bat as well as some ball marks... Getty doesn't have any photos so I did the best I could off MLB.TV

As far as the Markakis goes... no the photo doesn't have a model number on ot, but to me the black tape overlaying the white is perfect

I realize everyone is tough on photomatches, but I have never seen two bats that are exactly alike, as well I have only ever seen two or three perfect photomatches...

I think these are good, and since they are going to hang on my wall, in the end thats all that really matters
Photomatches are much easier with MLB holograms, also they are not as rare as you make them out to be.

    Me too.

Believe me I was very surprised when I reached into the box and starting pulling out old gym cloths and swim trunks

Without getting into the photomatching debate, I'm going to bask in the warm glow of the Orioles having the best outfield in baseball that nobody's ever heard of!
Jones - Markakis - Reimold. Good, young and under team control for a long while yet. It's about time.
