I now have 18 Alcides Escobar bats. I also have 6 gu jerseys, 1 gu batting helmet, 2 pairs of batting gloves, a locker name plate, and a pair of gu spike from 2009. This kid is going to be the next Ozzie Smith at shortstop. I also think he has a great chance at the NL ROY in 2010. Keep your eye on him next year he will be a highlight on ESPN a lot....

Thanks. Needless to say after tonight's game I am a very happy man, now I just have to decide whether to keep the Brees or sell it for what would probably be a nice profit.

So when Willie Mitchell went down with an injury, my second favorite hockey player ever was FINALLY awarded for his leadership, hard work and pure heart by getting to wear the "A" for my beloved Canucks. I thought I would be free of my yearly Sami Salo purchase as there were no special patches, alternate jerseys or changes from last year but a player's first "A" is a pretty special accomplishment and fits perfectly into my collection. I emailed the fine folks at MeiGray and pre-ordered and paid in full for the shirt shown below. My only worry is that the Canucks are on a record setting 82 game road trip (or so it seems) and if Mitchell returns before March 10th, the Canucks are going to tear the "A" off. If they do, I may switch to the Blue version as they will not play another game in those shirts and therefore the "A" will remain intact on the jersey. Come to think of it, I may just order that one too lol. This collecting thing is a disease.
