Re: May pickups
OK - todays mail call rocked! I just got my Ken Griffey gamer in from Grey Flannel from the last auction. It's a sweet looking gamer and already one of my favorites.

Re: May pickups
Seahawks (WE ARE...PENN STATE!) Bobby Engram away jersey. This was truly a sweet surprise, as I now have Bobby's home, away jerseys and pants from his 07 season; his best as a Pro.
Also picked up a game worn Hawks helmet of Mike Wahle with the GU 63 sticker on the back, to add to my collection of game worn lineman helmets. Bought both of these directly from the 'Hawks at the Pro Shop in Qwest Field today. As a bonus...ALL items over $150 are a whopping 30% off today and tomorrow! The helmets were all common players, but the jerseys were some nice names like Lofa, Tapp, Peterson, Koren Robinson, Hutch, etc...they also had game worn pants and game issued gloves.
Went to the M's game, hoping for a sweep of the Yanks, but left early as the obvious was in front of us. Still picked up this nice Jack Wilson MLB holo game worn helmet from 2009 inside of Safeco's GU shop.
A great pickup day in the Emerald City overall!Comment

Re: May pickups
Didn't realize we had a few members in the Seattle area today, woulda been neat to meet other forum members.
Thanks for the heads up at the Pro Shop, might try to make it down there tomorrow.
As for the M's helmet, I'd check that hologram but even so, Jack is a righty and the hemlet is obviously for a lefty. I'd say it's a better chance it was Jeff Clements helmet. I think I saw it before and they tried telling me it was Jacks as well and I said probably Jeff because of the righty/lefty thing.Always looking for Seattle Mariners & anything of Felix Hernandez, Jay Buhner, Richie Sexson and Arthur Rhodes.

But, no doubt you are correct. I looked thru Getty and saw the proof for myself. Jeff Clement would be nice, as another ex-Bucco, but there is sticker residue on the left of the "9", which looks like a "2" or a "5". Could have been Adrian Beltre, which would have been awesome as well, except wrong side again with the ear flap. Making me conclude it's probably a Mike Carp that was then converted to a Jeff Clement...thus why the other number was removed and the "9" was left on there. Still, for $80, not really complaining.

Re: May pickups
Also, no problem on the Seahawks Pro Shop heads up. There really will be no better time to buy game used from them, because 30% off is huge! I wish I would have had more cash on me, because I would have bought another jersey or two. But, oh well...the Engram was the main reason I went there today. Plus I love game worn helmets, no matter from who. They look awesome in my collection.
I work and live in southern WA, but my wife and I make it up there once every month or two for an M's game or a signing, and always swing by the Hawks Pro Shop. Let me know if you ever want to meet up sometime.Comment

Re: May pickups
Couldn't have been a Carp and then switched to a Clement because Clement never played in 2009 for the Mariners, if anything it would have to be the other way around, but doesn't really make sense since Carp was 59 and Clement was 9 in 2008. Interesting helmet. It's definitely a "2" or "5" that has been taken off?Comment

The reason I believed it was Mike Carp was due to the fact he would have worn that style of ear flap in 2009 and he was the only one with a number ending in "9" (ex: #59) that fit the bill. But Clement would be a reasonable guess as well, and maybe it's really from the 2008 season?
The hologram states 2009 season, which is why I at first thought the sales guy was right when he said it was Jack Wilson's. But now...hard to say if it's just another of MLB.com faulty holo information?Comment

Re: May pickups
Dan Johnson's Miami Dolphins helmet with the David Overstreet memorial sticker.
Bo Orlando's San Diego Charger helmet.
Aurelio Rodriguez 1971 Detroit Tigers flannel with name on back.
The character BILLINGSLY from the movie FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, it was worn in the final game by the actor who played Tim McGraw's son and actually shows some great use and staining.
