Just picked up a circa 1950 Hank Sauer game used bat. The bat is an H4 model and is 36 inches in length and currently weighs 36.3 oz. Other Stan Musial items were also involved in the purchase including his last 1963 game ticket stub/program as well as a vintage Hartland statue of him. Can provide more scans of each if needed for interested parties. Since I do not collect these items--I am open to offers.
If interested you can email me at sicollector1954@comcast.net. Thanks.
No, they grade bats. Its based on the criteria stated in that link (its kind of bs), but if a bat is cracked at all its unlikely you'll get a 10. Trust me, that Cabrera is about as good as it gets, nice pick up.
Career baseball #1773 was nabbed tonight during Mets BP at Wrigley Field...I also may be getting a shipment from a Mets player to mention when the June Pickups thread comes around.
No, I just met somebody, through an eBay sale, with some ST connections and a garage full of bats. Update your "Items Wanted" lists, 'cause he may start posting here soon.
Looks like you picked up one of just about everybody....except Brandon Allen unfortunately...
Would love to get my hands on one of Goldschmidt's bats
Yeah, that's a nice one to have. I'm hoping that he comes to the Arizona Fall League this year...only the way he's hitting, he may be on the Major League roster before the end of the season.

In my dreams. I frequently fantasize about saving the GM's kid from being run over in traffic, or something, and him asking me what he can do for me. I'd say, "The key to that room down by the visitor's locker room and the loan of a laundry cart."

As you can probably tell, I love prospects' bats. I get more excited about picking up a Jae Yun Kim or a Paul Goldschmidt than I do about getting another Montero or Drew. I'm hoping that some of these guys end up in the Arizona Fall League in the next year or two, so I can get them signed.
Yeah, I was there Saturday night, and I did stop by the auction table. I wasn't aware that they'd started those up again. I saw that they started the Josh Wilson bat at only $20, and I probably would have put a bid in on that, but I knew that if I did I would be forced by curiosity to come down to the first deck at the end of the sixth inning to see if I'd won, and I didn't want to miss any of the game. In retrospect, a good decision, I think. That was one of the longest nine inning games I've ever seen, but worth the wait.

Was that you checking out the auction table downstairs on Thursday night? I thought it may have been you but I was chasing my kid so I didn't have time to stop. I ended up grabbing the Kelly Johnson helmet that night from the auction though.
sorry that should have been Saturday night, not Thursday.

I believe that the grade is the condition of the graph. there is no grade of authentication, it's either authentic or not. At least thats what I think....
