Re: June 2014 "Pick-Ups" Thread
Been a busy first part of the month for me. Was at the Orioles vs. Brewers series in Milwaukee to see my two favorite teams. Picked up some nice items:
First, Mark Reynolds game used Memorial Day hat and jersey. Love the dirt on the front of it!Leave a comment:

Re: June 2014 "Pick-Ups" Thread
1932 H&B Jimmie Foxx
Heavily used Jimmie Foxx bat from the 1932 season. Bat was returned to the H&B factory for duplication as evidenced by the side writing on the left barrel. Thankfully for me (financially) it wasn't returned by Foxx, but was returned by his teammate, backup catcher Johnny Heving, on June 9, 1932.
That year (1932) was significant to Foxx as it was one of his best seasons statistically (151 runs scored, 213 hits, 33 doubles, 9 triples, 58 HRs, 169 RBI, and .364 average). He won his first of three American League MVP Awards and missed winning the TRIPLE CROWN by a mere 3 points. The player who won the batting title (Dale Alexander of the Red Sox) hit .367, but in 454 plate appearances. Under current rules he would not have won the batting title and the TC would have belonged to Foxx, who did win it the following season in 1933 (.356/48/163) and also repeated as AL MVP.

He was early in Braun's career before he really took off. I know there are collectors who will know more than me, but I don't believe it was more than 2-3 years.Leave a comment:

Re: June 2014 "Pick-Ups" Thread
Ya, I emailed back and forth with Bob for a while, and picked up about 4 things from him, the last one being the bat. He had photos of a lot of the game used items he sold that Braun would bring to the private signings. Spoke with a few people who have dealt with Bob over the years and haven't heard anything negative about his stuff.Leave a comment:

Was Bob his rep? I know Mikita did private signing events, but some of the gamers on the site look off for one reason or another. Good prices, regardless.Leave a comment:

No, it's from Mikita Sports. He still has some stuff leftover from when he used to be his rep.Leave a comment:
