Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
Couldnt get pics but from watching the Nats these past few days, I'd swear that Dunn was using a Zimmerman bat and someone else (can't recall) was using a Dunn bat. I'll see if I can find some pics.
Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
If you ever see a photo of Duke Snider in a #28 SF Giants flannels, it's an adopted jersey (not one made for him). Number 4 Giants flannels were made for Snider, but not worn, as the number, while not officially retired yet, was put aside in deference to Mel Ott. Snider has said that he tried on jerseys in the Giants clubhouse that were given to him by the equipment guy, and he settled on the #28 jerseys that were issued to, but not worn by, pitcher John Pregenzer.

The 1971 Dodgers flannels of a player named Galiher who never made the Majors ended up being worn in spring training of 1972 by some guy named Robinson...

Nick Punto using a Berkman bat on 5/1/11. Don't worry about this one popping up online as a Berkman gamer though. From browsing through my other photos from this at-bat, both the knob and the end of the bat has Berkman's number blacked out and Punto's #8 written in.

A few weeks ago when the Cardinals were visiting Wrigley Field, Tony LaRussa did not make the trip due to a short-term health issue. Kyle Lohse wore LaRussa's jersey to present the lineup card before the game.
Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
Hey guys,
Looking for some help on this situation - it has me stumped. I'm looking into buying a Carlos Quentin GU bat that's MLB authenticated. When I typed in the authentication #, it shows that it is a Carlos Quentin bat used by Jose Lopez of the Rockies in April of this year. My question is, how would this Quentin bat get in the possession of Lopez? I know that it's common for players to use their teammates' bats, but these 2 have never been on the same team. I found a picture of Quentin using the same style bat in 2010, and then a picture of the bat being used by Lopez in 2011. Any chance it's the same one? Any insight is much appreciated.
