Re: The Response I got from X Bats
I'm all for it on the following conditions:
You order a bat of a "pro MLB player" of my choice....not any "friggin" name player, are you trying to pull a fast one on me and just order a "John Doe" bat? Those I believe would come with the "Pro Maple" brand.
The bat is shipped directly to me from X-bats. When the bat arrives I will post pics on the forum. If the pro player bat you ordered is not identical in every aspect to the pro player X-bat I have photos of from 2007, I win the bet.
Are you "man" enough to accept these conditions?

Am I wrong but dont all SAM bats have team names on them?Leave a comment:

Re: The Response I got from X Bats
I would make that call to them as soon as possible to get your bat. X-bat is about to have a bad day since we have exclusive rights to the MLB team names on bats.
That's why you see companies start to put the team names on bats then stop after a while. They get nasty letters from our lawyers.
I'm not talking about the WS Bats with respect to the proposed wager, I am referring to the standard Pro Model bats that don't carry a team name.
I did an order form with a star players name on it and did everything but pay for it and my order would have been filled and it would have been only $95.00 + Shipping....the Trophy Model will set you back $135.00 + shipping.
There is no doubt in my mind that they are all about getting the $$$ and it doesn't matter where it comes from.
Again, I'm not an expert on WS Bats and have never seen a Game Used X Bat...and would really be curious as to what one that has been photo-matched looks like....
I was all wet with regard LS WS bats, but that won't be the first shoot first and die....Leave a comment:

Bobby...
I will make you this wager...I can order any friggin Name Player Bat from them and get it delivered to me labeled and logo'd exactly the same as what they give to the pro's....
Are you willing to take that wager?Leave a comment:

Re: The Response I got from X Bats
Good for you...but you seem to want to dodge the real issue that I present....and then you won't copy and paste the aledged email you got from X Bats...Gee, I wonder why. e-mail I got from X-bats is posted below! Happy now?
The real issue is that X Bats clearly will make the same bat as they ship to the Pro's to the General public with the same label and markings for a price of $95.00 + shipping. How do you know this for sure? I know that was the case a few years back, but now X-bats being sold to the public with pro players names are labeled with "Pro Trophy" Once again your not speaking from fact, only fantasy!!
Could it be that you don't want this out of the bag as it may hurt the value of some of your bats that may or may not be the real deal? I own just two X-bats in my collection both are Manny Ramirez gamers, one is signed by him and exhibits perfect Manny game use traits, the other I purchased directly from John Taube and comes with the PSA/DNA cert. I would bet my entire collection that both bats are the real deal!
I love the deflection tactics you use...the mark of a real pro. Are you talking about yourself? You seem to jump from one topic to another and the links you provided made no sense at all: UDA Pujols bat, Ortiz non game used bat on ebay, etc! I suggest you go back and proofread before you post!
I already stated that I'm not an expert in Bat's, but I take it you are? I'm not an expert , but when it comes to players I collect I would say I'm well educated as to what types of bats they swing and the game use traits they should exhibit!
I love how you defend X Bats and the impish behavior of their employee(s) cause they make great bats...so do over a dozen other makers and I bet they readily provide anyone who has a legitimate inquiry an answer. I never once defended the behavior of the employee you conversed with. I only stated what my experience has been with them and that was great!
You clearly are not a nice person, but I really don't want to make this a personal thing as you clearly are. You presented the topic on this forum and I responded. I posted what I was told by X-bats on the topic of WS bats on their website and you continued to make false claims to whats being sold on their site without real "Facts" or evidence! Hey nothing personal, but once again thanks for the good laugh you provided!
PreviewRe: The Response I got from X Bats
Heres the copy of the e-mail that I sent to X-bats, minus my e-mail address which I removed as I used my business e-mail:
We know which is which. All Pro Player bats are identical but have Pro Trophy on them instead of Pro Maple.

I was looking at your website and noticed that you are offering 2007 World Series bats. How do you distinguish a store model bat from a pro player world series game used bat. The reason I'm asking is that anyone can take one of these bats and make them look as if they were used in a pro game and sell them on the open market. What steps are you taking to prevent this? Thanks, RobertLeave a comment:

Re: The Response I got from X Bats
Point taken, but I have never heard of any company that wouldn't provide information about their products...moreover, how would they know I hadn't bought a bat from them directly? It was implied that if I were a paying customer they would have given me the information.
I own and operate a small business and I certainly would never treat any "potential" customer in such a fashion.
Their response might have been, sorry, but that information is not available, period and I would have went on my merry way!
However, the true color of the person responding to me came out loud and clear to say the least and there is no justification for what he said to me or anyone.
How on earth would they have seen you as a potential customer? Potential customers don't ask for someone else's records. I see no reason why they would provide you with company/client records. Quite frankly you deserve everything you got for telling them it is "bad business" to not comply with your request.
Let it go. Your attempts to villify X-bats is backfiring.Leave a comment:

Re: The Response I got from X Bats
Gee, what a suprise, I called X Bats and the person who answered was just as rude as the person I got on the email side of things.
Does anyone know who I can contact in their company to lodge a complaint to?
I probably shouldn't take all of this so personally, but it is so anti to what I'm about that it for some reason got to me....Leave a comment:

You seem to misunderstand me, I got a laugh from your ramblings and links to posts that really make no sense to what were discussing, that being W.S. labeled pro player X-bats! Not at your e-mails directly with X-bats customer service!
Here's the thread you wrote that started the questions on the W.S. X-bats, that is now posted on this thread.

For the record, Gagne has actually had 86 Plate appearances all with the Dodgers and the last was in 2004 when he had 3 ab's ...in his first 3 years with the Dodgers he had 82 ab's....Leave a comment:

Re: The Response I got from X Bats
I get really good laugh when I read your writings bigjim!
I'm trying to understand what your saying but you make no sense at times. You post a link to pictures of the two 1993 WS Phillies bats, that was 14 years ago!! I thought were talking about present day WS labeled bats.
Then you post a link to an Ortiz bat on ebay that is obviously not game used, just signed by Ortiz saying 2004 WS champs and whats wrong with the Mike Lowell WS bat, looks legit to me, any Red Sox collector would love to have that bat in their collection!!
You posted: "I'm not an expert on WS Bats and certainly am not an expert on Game Used Bats, but kind of can figure it out when their in my hands."
Well have you figured out that your Gagne X-bat just may be a BP bat, you should know that Gagne was a closer with the Dodgers and may have no at bats during a game with your X-bat and trying to get a timeline for a photo match is really being unrealistic! In fact Gagne from 2002 thru 2007 had a total of only 4 at bats during MLB games!
Also, why do need a copy and paste of the e-mail that was sent to me? I told you exactly what was written to me on regards to my question on X-bat WS bats offered for sale on their website!
Seems like you had a bad time with one X-bat employee and then you try to bash whats being sold on their site. X-bats is a legitimate company that makes quality game bats from amateurs and pros and with Manny using their bats to hit 4 home runs in the post season, I think they will be around for a long time!
I'm glad you got a laugh out of it, I didn't. The bat probably isn't a BP bat as it doesn't have enough ball marks and in fact only has one ball mark that I can detect....yes, Photo-Matching is probably a long shot...but knowing when it was made would have been nice.
You are the one who brought into the thread the WS Bat thing to begin with.
Out of courtesy, would you copy and paste their email response to you.
More to the point, why was there a need for an employee of X Bats to say that 99% of the stuff being passed off as Game Used is crap? Could it be because he knows something we don't?!
There are many bat makers out there who make a great bat that actually provided customer service, even for those who aren't paying customers...gee what a concept.Leave a comment:

Amen! X-bats and their employees are the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked! Definitely a company I (as well as MLB) can do without. There are too many bat companies anyway.
I spit on their haircuts......Leave a comment:
