Point taken, but I have never heard of any company that wouldn't provide information about their products...moreover, how would they know I hadn't bought a bat from them directly? It was implied that if I were a paying customer they would have given me the information.
I own and operate a small business and I certainly would never treat any "potential" customer in such a fashion.
Their response might have been, sorry, but that information is not available, period and I would have went on my merry way!
However, the true color of the person responding to me came out loud and clear to say the least and there is no justification for what he said to me or anyone.

As an outsider looking in I don't really see a problem with this. They responded with a "no" and a reason. Fair enough. It was until you fired back with, "Well that's pretty crass and bad business and I will be sure not to buy anymore X bats!!!" that the problem really started.
You asked for a favor and they didn't obligue (with no real reason to). A simple thank you for your time was warranted, not a tirade. The only fault I see here of the X-bat's employee was in responding to your follow up emails, which if they didn't you probobly would have posted how unprofessional X-bats is in that they will not respond to emails.

If they have employees like that, they are a shitty company. I have had similar rude experiences from Xbats as well as some pretty short ones. Once I sent a simple email asking about a Delmon Young model Xbat, and they said:
"See our website for model information."
Like that answers my question about a particular model Delmon ordered.
Then I clarify (by repeating what I said earlier) and they said:
"THAT INFORMATION IS CONFIDENTIAL!"
Well why didn't you say that the first time, jack-ass?!? They must have a couple of employees who are real dick-necks, or they just totally suck in morale. Either way, I pray they become unsuccessful.....Leave a comment:

I'm not an expert on WS Bats and certainly am not an expert on Game Used Bats, but kind of can figure it out when their in my hands.
The issue I presented is the rude, insulting responses I received from a representative of X Bats with regard to a Game Used Bat I recently obtained that happened to be made by them. I merely asked them when Eric Gagne may have ordered the model I have of his and the response was we only give that information out to paying customers.
Which I responded, that is crass and not good business...
Tell you what, I will copy and paste the whole dialog for all to see and then you can see my side of this:

Why are you bringing up Louisville Slugger bats in this? You can't go and order these type of bats. The Lowell is about as good as it gets. Straight from PMI (who he works with) a picture of him holding the bat and signed. I wonder what the bat sold for. The auction was ended early. The thread wasn't about WS BATS and was only embued by Gameused to bolster his position that he got good service from X Bats, good for him...I got just the opposite and there is no excuse for it.
I didn't post to create get into an argument, but I certainly wouldn't be putting dowm my money on a X Bats WS Bat that is said to be game used when you consider you can order them with apparently no differences.
The response Gameused should have got from the horses mouth would have been, the real ones don't have the team name on them as that seems to be the nexus of Gameused argument.
I don't think there is comformity as it appears that WS bats can come with or without the teams name on them from different makers and from the same makers.
It would be nice if X Bats instead of saying to me that since I'm not a paying customer to take a hike and them to denegrate me because I'm a Game Used afficianato and that we are all morons because most of the stuff is fake anyway...

I wish the Ortiz bat had better pictures on use. It's not a World Series labeled bat. But many player's don't use the labeled World Series type bats in the World Series. Probaly more just use the regular bats from the season/playoffs, than the brand new issued bats the companies make for them right before the series starts that are labeled World Series. My guess on the Ortiz bat, is that it is game used or issued bat that someone had him sign it World Series champs ect. He didn't sign it game used in the World Series. Might have been just a regular season bat someone had signed and is using the wording of the autograph inscription to make it seem like it was used in the World Series.Leave a comment:

You are correct that I made no mention, but I will know when the holograms show up but doubt they were WS as they were sold as "game used" with no mention of WS use. I am sure they were used at the end of the season and can only hope that they saw ALDS, ALCS or WS.allStarslus, made no mention that the Pedroia or the Youkilis bats in the photos were game used from the 2007 W.S.
I dont like pissing matches also, but in my opininon you need to speak from fact, not fantasy!

Look I don't want to engage in a pissing match about it, but you certainly are welcome to buy some WS Bat's from X Bats and know for sure that they really are Team/Game bats!!!!
For the record, Brian Borsch also got the same type of response that I did...

I read your thread, beginning to end. I am trying to say is.....
"A single experience, with single employee of a company does not represent how the company over all treats people or customers that contact them."
If I were you I would complain to the company powers that be and then, if the result is the same experience avoid their products and share that experience.
My experience was different than yours, I would encourage people to contact the bat manufactures, my son plays little league, I am even considering getting him a bat based on the good experience I had with them. They should consider that, as everybody is a potential customer.
Collectors look closely at bat quality, I have had other dads ask me if I think there are quality differences between manufactures....Why do they want to piss all over the collectors, when they could influence sales too.
