Here it is...the bat I have been waiting for. Has zero use - not important. Personally, all that matters is that it is a game model and the inscription.
Whiten was very exciting in STL and had his breakout (and best) offensive season here. I was a far greater fan of his arm. Cards fans were spoiled with the arm of McGee - who had an absolute hose from center...but Whiten came with a Howitzer. Thanks to my buddy Bill (Redbird64) for the assist.
Recently made the SWAP of the CENTURY with my good buddy Joe from Springfield. Guys, I have made so many great friends here...and Joe is certainly one of the guys I identify with. This bat came to my door in ONE day...
Davetiki,
Awesome Vlad bat! I think his game used stuff is starting to get hot and the investment potential is really on the upswing! I love players that don't wear batting gloves and hit the tar out of the ball....there aren't many out there like Vlad.
Todd,
Excellent find! I know you've been looking for a Hanks for awhile. I am really happy for ya.
I haven't recieved this one yet. But, this is in my top 3 items. I picked it up from a fellow collector (thome25.com)It is photo matched to a bunch of cards. It is a Thome 06 Sox throwback uniform. Can't wait to get it.
Picked up this beauty today. I loved Merton Hanks and this was one my "impossible finds" on my website. 1994 game dated jersey used against the Broncos with 49ers COA.
Just got this Vladi gamer in the mail today and it was like Christmas in March. LS from the 2004 season used to hit his 39th and final homer of the season. It is the bat that "Won the West" and Vladi the 2004 MVP. The seller used to have an Angel's blog and this bat was pictured there. I always admired it and never thought he would sell it. When he did, I jumped all over it.
