Thanks karamaxjoe, there are a few things on my site I have sold and there are a few I have added but haven't gotten around to putting on the site yet. I once had the bat that Jose used to hit the 3-run HR in the 1989 World Series Game 3 with. I think I have the best overall collection, but the best game jersey collection would have to go to a fellow member of GUU named Dan Albonetti from Toronto. I have sold him several.

The pricing has varied a good bit. All of my shoes have come from either DC Sports or one of my NBA contacts.

Over the years, I have been a general baseball and basketball collector. My baseball collection focused mostly on Steve Carlton and Rickey Henderson, and, to a lesser degree, Cal Ripken Jr. and Pete Rose. I'm focusing more on hoops these days and consider myself a general collector of NBA/NCAA/Olympic basketball, but certainly have particular players upon whom I focus. The following is a list of items I have, recently had, or are on the way...

    Dirk Nowitzki:
8 game worn jerseys (all photomatched, including 3 MVP year jerseys and 5 Playoff jerseys)

    LeBron James:
7 pairs of game worn shoes (some photomatched, including 2 rookie pairs and 5 Playoff pairs)

    Jason Kidd:
3 game worn jerseys (all photomatched, including 1 Playoff jersey)

    Kobe Bryant:
5 pairs of game worn shoes (some photomatched, including 3 MVP pairs and his home opener shoes from this year)

I'd like to be more of a Tim Duncan, Kevin, Garnett, and Shaq collector, but their real items have eluded me (though I did finally obtain a photomatched Garnett T-Wolves jersey).

The Garnett sold to a private collector. I'll ask him to post pics, though I don't think he's a GUF reader. The jersey was matched based on numerous patch bumps, stitching imperfections, and loose threads. It was not a "possible match" or stylematch; it was a true photomatch.

There is nothing wrong with the "cookie cutter items." One thing that was impressive about looking at Gary Cypres' Babe Ruth Collection was the game used stuff, autograph team baseball, wire photos, etc. I was walking around this display area and there was a father and son making the rounds at the same time. Cypres has a nice display case of "cookie cutter" babe ruth items. in the display there were books, stadium giveaways items, pins, plates and other manufactured item. The father told his son to come over and check this out. There was a Babe Ruth watch that the father had in his collection. The son acknowledged that it was the same item in his fathers collection and kinda got excited. What will the kid remember from his trip the museum? I hope that watch.

I guess what I am getting at is that to me a collectible is only good as the memory or emotion that it illicits. A Canseco rookie card may be the best Canseco collectible out there to many Canseco fans just because it something they owned when they were a kid and were following Canseco.

I played much more basketball growing up in high school and local rec leagues during college etc. Anyway, I would love to pick up some basketball stuff and sometimes I am tempted to bid on some items. Sounds like you have an incredible collection of items especially the Dirk stuff. If you know where I can get a Robert Horry game worn Lakers jersey I would love to pick one of those up.
Brett ... I'll certainly keep this in mind and let you know if I locate one.
