Obtained dirrectly from AAA bat boy, probably from 06', not an expert. Also not sure what that is on the knob whether it is a symbol or what. The bat boy assured me he watched him crack it right in front of him, gave him one other bat & actually even traded a glove with him.
2005 Ciatrick Fason Minnesota Vikings rookie jersey with 45th Season patch. Fason was the last Gator RB to rush for 1000 yards.
gatorcollector, I remember seeing that on JO's website and thought it was just a matter of time before you picked it up. Not a Gator fan but I liked Fason when he was in college. Nice pickup!
Hey Bobby I got your e-mail about the Manny bat. I'll get you some screenshots tonight....
As for my pickup...I just got this bat yesterday for free. It's a Dan Uggla game used bat from August 22nd, 2009. I videomatched the crack. There's this lady at Turner Field that gives my photography to all the players and she gets some for herself too to get signed, and in return she gave me this bat. She has also given me other stuff like sold out tickets for the Yankess & Red Sox games back in June....dugout seats for various other games atleast 5 or 6 times this season in the 1st row.....more autographs.....etc. She got the bat from the clubhouse since they had some cracked bats and were just giving them away. She had Uggla sign it for me before the game.
Just received my Bobby Joe Mason Harlem Globetrotters jersey from the recent Grey Flannel auction. I don't know if I'd call this a "grail," but it's something I always wanted and never thought I'd find. Mason was a standout for the Centralia (IL) Orphans (my high school) and for Bradley University in the 1950s. He joined the Globetrotters the year I was born and played with them until 1976. When I think of the Globetrotters, I always think of the team with Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal, Geese Ausbie, Marques Haynes and Bobby Joe. This one's a keeper.
It's hard to see in the photos, but the barrel shows great use with a number of deep ball stitch impressions, ink transfers, leather ball marks and heavy tar to the Nike logo and mid handle area. The knob is stamped 5/13/09
I have style matched the bat to his comeback in July after his suspension and I'm currently working on a photo match.
Bobby
Excellent bat!! (usual jealously toward Bobby sets in...)
