Players using others players bats or other equipment
Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
Picked up a Don Baylor R161 bat Used by Clint Barmes MLB authenticated from last month. Added that to the Don Baylor bat used by Andres Galarragga that I already had. Baylor loves to give his bats to slumping batters.
Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
I just recalled this...when my wife and I went to Cooperstown back in 1999, one of the items on display that we saw was the bat that Tony Cloninger used to hit 2 grand slams in one game with Atlanta in 1966. The bat was an H&B Denis Menke signature model. To further the coincidence, Topps printed a card in their 1967 set titled "Atlanta Aces". The 2 players shown on the card? Menke and Cloninger!

Orioles at Tigers
Magglio Ordonez used what appeared to be an Ivan Rodriguez LVS P72 in the first inning when he grounded out to second to pick up an RBI.
Pudge must have left a lot of lumber behind in Detroit since he hasn't played for the Tigers since July 30, 2008. Did anybody else see this or happen to get a screenshot?
Re: Players using others players bats or other equipment
Not a hint of photo evidence but just today I received a 2002 Marlins bat from Left Field Collectibles, GU by Alex Gonzalez, including an Expos signed letter from the visiting equipment manager.
On knob and end in silver are Gonzalez's #11. In gold, on the knob, the 11 is blocked out and the number 17 was added. Checking Baseball Reference the player who wore #17 in 2002 for the Marlins was Ramon Castro.
The bat has a clean crack which I plan to repair. Beautiful 2 tone bat, black and rose. Could well have been cracked by Castro.
